FERRARI IS PRODUCING FEWER CARS TO SELL

THIS IS BECOMING A VERY PROFITABLE STRATEGY FOR FERRARI. IN 2012 FERRARI PRODUCED 7300 CARS, LAST YEAR THEY DROPPED PRODUCTION TO 7000. THE GOAL IS TO MAINTAIN HOW EXCLUSIVE THE BRAND IS. IT ALSO HELP RAISE THE SALES PRICE OF USED AND VINTAGE FERRARI ON THE MARKET. FERRARI REPORTS BIGGER PROFITS AND REVENUES IN 2013 AFTER REDUCING THE PRODUCTION OF VEHICLES.

THE PRICE OF A VINTAGE FERRARI IS GOING UP BREAKING RECORDS THIS YEAR. THIS 1960’S FERRARI SOLD AT PEBBLE BEACH THIS YEAR FOR 27.5 MILLION DOLLARS. FERRARI’S CHAIRMAN SAID THE COMPANY WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CARS THIS YEAR AND MAYBE EVEN NEXT YEAR.

THE WAITING LISTS FOR THE PREMIUM MODELS IS EXPECTED TO BECOME LONGER. HOWEVER ITS GOOD NEWS FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY OWN A FERRARI. THE PRICE OF THE SECOND HAND AND VEHICLES WILL KEEP GOING UP MAKING THEM A REAL INVESTMENT

I DON’T KNOW HOW OFTEN THOSE FOLKS WITH COLLECTIONS HAVING THEM APPRAISED BUT A LOT FOLKS THAT HAVE CARS THAT THEY ARE HOLDING ON TO ARE DOING SO FOR THE LONG TERM. IN THE SHORT RUN IF THERE IS A BIT OF DEPRECIATION THEIR NOT LOOKING TO CASH IN ON IT BUT THEY ARE GOING TO HOLD ON TO THEM TILL THEY’RE DONE WITH THEM.

THE COMPANY HAS LAUNCHED THEIR LATEST VERSION OF THE CALIFORNIA THIS MONTH. IT HAS A STARTING PRICE OF 198 THOUSAND DOLLARS. UNFORTUNATELY IT IS ONLY A TWO SEATER SO YOU CAN LIVE IN IT.
